I'm Brandon, a certified airframe mechanic, private pilot and RC airplane and helicopter enthusiast! I stumbled across this forum after being bored and googling "aviation forum." Works for me.

I hope to be a very active member here, and encourage people to ask me anything related to any of the above topics, I'd be more than happy to help anyone!

If you were wondering where I got my crazy screen name from....well I used to work for an FBO and one of my jobs was fuel quality control and inspection, and one of the things I inspected for was....well.... water in the fuel!

I've joined this site because I've had it with another aviation site, at ww2aircraft.net. At first I thought the site was great, but it turned out that some of the moderators act like hair-triggered primadonnas up to and including ridiculing you for your suspension by another moderator, when they know full well that at that point you can no longer respond to their ridicule (very unprofessional). If you say anything that goes against them, boom, you're suspended without any real explanation. I fully realise that forums have to have rules, and that posters are expected to abide by them, but if you're suspended without even a warning and without being told why you're suspended, it's hard to stop doing something when you don't even know what that something is. At any rate, for what it's worth, I cannot recommend this site, unless you're certain you'll never say anything that could possibly be considered controversial by their rather touchy moderators. I certainly hope that the moderators at this site are a little, well, more moderate and forgiving if someone innocently oversteps the bounds. I hope I haven't overstepped the bounds with this post! If I have, please tell me and I'll gladly mend my evil ways.

I have some interest regarding to airplane especially a jet fighter. I need to know a lot about them from here but don't get mad on me if I make a funny or irrational question to you because it's just a curiosity to me and I'm totally new to this world.

I'm a retired USAF loadmaster and Rail Road conductor looking for pilots and avid aviation enthusiat to build model displays for! I'm a avid model builder but have no place to keep or display them, so for years I've built for several collectors. I've done well competting in local and national contest. I also have several articals and models on some of the leading modeling web sites. Just thought I'd try this forum to contact folks out there that would be intrested in a detailed display, either a personel or just a favorite airframe. Hello. I'm currently working my way through highschool, getting A's and B's in every class thus far. I've had a dream of flying fighters in the USAF for several years, and prior to that it was helicopters. Anyway, I wanted to look for some advice, info, or anything that could help me achieve my goal by posting this thread.

Currently, I am in high school. I plan to graduate with a high 3-point something grade average (Currently a 3.4 or so? Probably a bit higher.). I hope to get a degree in Aerospace engineering, take part in AFROTC in my university, and do better there than in HS. I want to become a fighter pilot (F22 is the dream, but F35, F16, or even F15 are all fine with me [I just want to get there]). I've recently purchased the 'ASVAB for dummies' book, and I have 20/20 vision. I was hoping that someone experienced with USAF Fighter Piloting as well as this forum could help me out. Thanks.

I'm a newbie here I'm John from Dallas Texas, been in the telecommunications world for 22+ years and and currently unemployed after 17 yrs with the company. I'm 51 and want to change professions. I'd like to work on electronics and navigation equipment on aircraft...not necessarly a bench tech but I'll keep the idea open. What do I need to do to get my foot in the door here guys? And what schooling should I look at. I'm not really looking a being a mechanic but the Electronic nut on board....grin. Thanks for your input gents and happy New Year!

The Flying Tigers

So I just received a book from my Grandma titled “To Soar with the Tigers”. This book is about my grandmas’ first husbands’ (not my actual grandpa) experience in WWII, coming home and his tragic death. The book has his diary he kept while fighting and also the story of his home coming both provided by my grandmother! She is the one that provided pictures of Bob (Robert Brouk) in the book, as well as other items! Now the funny thing is this was not as I said before my actual grandpa (he was her second husband). Yet she would talk about Bob and how they had a quick romance and then his sudden death and the kind of man he was. So I do know a little about him but this was just really neat to see! What is so great is to get to read the actual story and see it through the actual pilots mind. I have not read the book yet but I do plan on talking about it while I read it. Anyways, my whole point of this post is to see what information I can get from people (not wikipedia) about the Flying Tigers. Thanks!!!

My name is Oleg. I‘m a 28-year licensed air traffic controller from Russia. I am responsible for air safety in the upper air area (ARTCC). I’ve been always interested in three areas: creative work (my childhood dream was to become an actor or a singer), finance (the idea of investing in different markets and the idea of financial independence in general) and, at last, aviation (the field I’m working in now). Working in air traffic service doesn’t imply all three directions. :-) You won’t achieve financial independence in our country working as an ATC, because we don't have such a big salary as our western and transatlantic colleagues do. Nevertheless, once, when I was studying at university, I claimed to my classmates that I would like to become one of the first, if not the very first ATC-millionaire. :-) Moreover, it’s impossible to speak about creativity, since it is a very responsible and strictly regulated area. The Russians have a joke: “Step to the left or step to the right – you’ll be shot”. So, having united all three components (creativity, finance and aviation), the idea of creation of personal virtual air space, with “The success hub airport” in its centre, appeared. That was the reason why The millionaire's air space has been started up.

Not everyone can afford to have a plane in reality, but many of you would like to own one. It is pleasant to realise that you have a private jet (or the whole park of airplanes) with the logo of your company or the name of your website on it. It increases your self-esteem and prestige, doesn't it? “The millionaire's air space” gives you this possibility: to 'buy' a plane for a symbolical price. 100$ not a big money for your dream, which, moreover, will remain in the history of the Internet!!! As in real life, there’s only so much room in air space, therefore the quantity of aircrafts is limited, there are 10 thousand. The arithmetic is simple: the main idea is to justify the site name, and to earn one million dollars. :-)

What do you guys think about it? Need your opinions and suggestions..
