  • Gotcha

Top Speed - The reason . . . I, like you run, don't really know, though now I can see why you would say that the wing profile has something to do with it. The F-16XL is probably a heavier aircraft all - around, even if extensive use of composites was incorporated into its wing. But you're right, a normal F-16 does appear to be faster. I guess ...

  • Points Taken

Hey run, what's up? I must say, it's real nice talkin' to SOMEONE on this forum, cuz God no's that few people ever seem to feel the need to post anything. Our debates often prove quite interesting, and that being said, let's get back into it, okay, :) Top Speed - Okay, I KNEW, I just knew you would say that the single seater can only go Mach ...

  • With All Due Respect . . . .

Run, I know that you're a moderator, and in being one, I'm sure a very knowledgeable person when dealing with F-16. That being said, I nearly can't believe what you wrote. Let's start from the beginning. Top Speed - I only said that the F-16XL could PROBABLY go Mach 2 to be nice. That's my fault for not coming right out and saying it can. IT ...

  • This Is True

Hey run, what's up? Well, I kinda figured that the F-22 would be too expensive, but definitely not the JSF. Not to mention, when used in tandem, aren't those 2 planes some of the most capable warplanes in the world? I guess that's why I thought the F-16 could get replaced relatively soon, but as you said, it does indeed have some years left, ...

  • Re: Which is better: The F-16XL or the F/A-18E/F

Top Speed - So far, most web sites say at best that it goes more than Mach 1.8. However, none would even dare come out and say that it is even Mach 2 capable, meaning that it probably isn't. And we all know that the F-16 (much less) is more than capable of going Mach 2. Maneuverability - Depends on the speed. At under 450 or 400 miles per hour, ...

  • Ok, that explains a lot.

Cuz I was like, okay, is it me, or does no one participate in this forum again. Geez, all you said was kinda shocker, cuz looking through the pages earlier, I realized that there was period of time when it seemed like a lot of people were posting stuff, and then it just kinda stopped somewhere. I don't know, I was just kinda disappointed, that's ...

  • Has the popularity of the F-16 gone down in this site?

I was just wondering, is there any particular reason that no one seems to respond to anything on this site. Has the F-16 honestly gotten so boring, cuz dang, it's been a while since someone responded to / discussed anything. And I'm not just talkin' about my threads, but others as well. I'm also talkin' about the fact that no new threads have ...

  • Which F-16 version is the best?

Hey everyone, well, I know that a similar thread was already created, but that thread dealt only with operational F-16s, not all the research variants or concepts, so I decided to creat a new thread to see which one out of the entire F-16 famiily people think is the best. So which version of the F-16 is the best, taking everything into account, ...

  • Re: Best F16

Israel has, or at least will have the best. Block 60s are basically the best that operational F-16s can get, hands - down. With the Block 60s, finally the F-16 gets an avionics suite on par with the latest generation of fighters such as the F-15E, F/A-18E/F, F-22, etc., not to mention a much more powerful engine. Oh, and did I mention the ...

  • Do you think the F - 16 will be replaced soon?

I know, yet another topic, but hey, this is somethin' else that was on my mind; I was wonderin', will the F - 16 (as in the combat, not research versions) be replaced soon. I mean, of course like not within a few weeks or months, but within maybe a few years. Currently, there are 2 planes that seem to be very capable of filling the role the F - 16 ...
