Carry-on baggage policies of airlines
The airlines in the world have very different carry-on baggage policies. British Airways has very strict carry-on baggage policy, allowing Economy Class passengers to carry only one piece of baggage (22" x 16" x 8") into cabin, and no more than 6kg/13lb, not even an additional suitcase nor a laptop. Economy Plus, Business and First Class passengers can carry only one more baggage (18" x 14" x 8") or a laptop, no more than 18kg/40lb total for First Class and 12kg/26lb for Business and Economy Plus. How pathetic their passengers are!
What the jokiest thing is 'Passengers will be allowed the most generous cabin baggage allowance on BA operated services'! In fact BA has one of the strictest cabin baggage allowance in the world!!
Cathay Pacific, on the other hand, has very generous carry-on baggage policy in the world. Economy class passengers are allowed to carry a bag of no more than 22" x 14" x 9" (max 15kg/33lb for First, 10kg/22lb for Business, and 7kg/15lb for Economy), plus ALL of the following:
An overcoat or shawl
A small handbag
A briefcase (no more than 4kg or 9 lbs in weight)
A notebook or laptop computer (no more than 4kg or 9 lbs in weight, including case and accessories)
A small camera or a pair of binoculars
An umbrella / walking stick / crutches
A "forward facing" infant car safety seat for ticketed child (aged between 6 months and 3 years) or infant bassinet or cot (that can fit on fold down shelves and can be properly secured)
Infant food and nappies (for consumption in flight)
An infant collapsible pushchair (if cabin stowage is available)
Business and First Class travellers can also bring the following free:
1 garment bag measuring a maximum of 20cm (8 inches) thick when folded in half, or
1 soft bag no more than 20cm (8 inches) thick
Air Canada has the most generous carry-on baggage policy in the world, as it allows ALL passengers to carry a luggage of no more than 22" x 16" x 9" and a briefcase of no more than 17" x 13" x 6", and each piece can be as heavy as 10kg/22lb, totalling 20kg/44lb, even better than Cathay Pacific First Class (19kg/42lb)!
