Small US carriers seek bigger business market
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/business/special_packages/business_monday/4426434.htm

It stated that Spirit Airlines, a low cost airline, would set up a new Spirit Plus class, with leather seats in upgraded coach, free snacks and cocktails. Its fare is very low, just US$40 premium per trip.

National Airlines, which offers First Class like that of Spirit Airlines Business Class, has its adjustment fare reduced from max US$100 to US$40-60 for flights from Miami to West Coast.

Some low cost carriers like Jetblue has all its fares not requiring overnight stay, thus making them even more popular.

Not only this, a new Honduran airline Sol Air operates flights between Miami and Central America, with simpliest fare of only one fare on either Maya class (Business) and coach class at all times respectively! What's more is the all fares are fully refundable, and NO charge for reservation changes at all(!!!)

The large carriers, like American, on the contrary, set up more restriction on use of non-refundable tickets. No wonder why business passengers switch to small carriers of less ticket restricion.

But unfortunately there is still no such flexible low fare service between USA and Canada. How pathetic the passengers are.

P.S. Why only USA low cost carriers set up premium class, but not other places like Europe?
